For the past four years I have worked at Rightpoint primarily as a Backend Developer. In this position, I was able to touch projects such as Bungie, Boppy, Vintage Parts, Riley, Xerox and more! Some of my work was featured by Adobe via the Maverick award that Bungie was awarded. I have since been invited by Adobe to become a SME, and participate in writing questions for the Certified Professional Developer Exam.
I am an Information Systems graduate
from Stony Brook University.
I obtained a specialization in business and economics in addition to my Information Systems course-load. Thanks to Stony Brook, I was able to gain a broad base of overall programming knowledge, and expand my skillset to be used in almost any technical workflow.
I possess a sharp eye for detail, which I use to find even the smallest errors in text. I work well under pressure and can produce high-quality work in short periods of time. I have strong interpersonal skills and work with a wide variety of people. My communication skills are among the best.
Outside of being a programmer, one of my passions is giving back to the community. One way I do this is by volunteering in the Port Washington Fire Department as a volunteer fireman and as an EMT. I regularly am on call and I enjoy spending
my free time giving back.
One of longest standing projects that I was introduced to with my time at Rightpoint was Bungie. As part of this project, I was able to add customizations that allowed rewards products to be purchased by any of the store's customer base, that also had a linked bungie.net account. This stemmed into many future customizations surrounding this functionality, such as allowing for pre-orders to be supported in a batch setting, creating a custom cron architecture to collect digital reward orders and distribute the codes accordingly, preventing non-ascii characters from being entered in checkout-related steps, and many others.
I continue to work on this site and make well-received improvements.
Feel free to checkout the site in its current state via the link below.
The Vintage Parts project was also one of my earlier tenure efforts. What makes this store unique is the vast size of the catalog. Vintage Parts stores and distributes many different one-off vehicle parts, and as such, their catalog is well over the million item mark. With this catalog size introduces many different performance concerns, such as indexer execution time, overall database operation, and item lookup. As part of this project, I worked on redis cache relief optimizations, multithreading optimizations, as well as many different third party sync optimizations. Besides working on storefront optimization, I also worked on the 'MyFitment' effort, which presents the user with a list of compatible vehicles for any given part on the store.

One of my more recent efforts involves a custom middleware app that the Boppy team uses to sync orders between Shopify and their ERP system SAP. This middleware app had recently gone down due to a series of outdated dependencies, and a SQL database host that had gone out of business. As part of this initial effort, I was able to get their middleware app back into a working state in under two weeks, with only minimal impact to their daily workflow. This involved things like getting a new MySql host online and integrated with the middleware app in a legacy capacity, getting their heroku instance back online with the needed legacy configurations, making various code tweaks, and getting a new set of webhooks installed via the Shopify API for the store.
I am slated to revamp their middleware app in the upcoming future.
Feel free to check out their store below.
In my Multimedia Design class I was tasked with creating a fully rendered Wright Flyer. This render was then used to create a quick clip showcasing how aircraft have evolved over the past 100 years. This model was kept as historically accurate as possible and was designed using the blueprints created by the Wright Brothers. If you would like to see how this project was made you can click below.
In my Benevolent Computing class we were tasked with designing a program to be used for a non-profit organization. My group was tasked with creating a way for the elderly who are living in assistive care facilities with cognitive disabilities to "exercise their minds". Through research, we discovered that those suffering from cognitive disabilities show positive response from combining music along with photos of loved ones. This research caused us to create Music For The Mind. Accessible via a tablet for better portability, it was designed with simplicity in mind. Click below to see our software documentation.
In my Database Design course, we were tasked with creating a functional database around a topic we enjoy. In my group, we all happened to play the same video game, called Counter Strike Global Offensive. We decided our database would store all values used in the game, such as weapon damage, armor values, health values, etc. and formulate the best possible strategy to win. We did this by analyzing all values in the database with a query which would then tell the user what to use in the game for that round of play. Click below to see our report on the database and how it works.
In my Computer Security class, my group was tasked with analyzing what went wrong with Yahoo in their massive data leak that occurred in 2013-2014. In our presentation, we describe the types of attacks used in the data breach, how the attack was executed, how the attack could have been prevented, and the lasting effects on Yahoo.
